Timeguard TT1002 HobGuard 40A Hob Safety Timer
Add an extra layer of control to a compatible electric hob with the Timeguard TT1002 HobGuard 2 Gang 40A Timer Switch.
The HobGuard is designed to help prevent a hob from remaining powered indefinitely when a user forgets to switch it off or becomes distracted. Once activated, the unit counts down for a preset period before automatically disconnecting the hob supply.
Six maximum operating periods are available:
- 15 minutes
- 20 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 45 minutes
- 60 minutes
- 120 minutes
The cut-off duration is selected using controls on the rear of the unit. Because the timer must be removed from the wall box before this setting can be changed, the chosen period cannot easily be altered by the everyday user. This makes the TT1002 particularly useful in rented properties, supported-living environments and installations where a consistent maximum operating time is required.
The smooth glass front plate features simple touchscreen operation, with countdown and power indicators providing a clear view of the unit’s status.
A rear DIP switch allows the installer to select either switched mode or fixed mode, depending on the required operating arrangement. The TT1002 has a maximum switching capacity of 40A and is intended for compatible electric cooking appliances within its published electrical ratings.
The unit fits a standard two-gang wall-box format and requires a sufficiently deep back box to accommodate the device and its high-current wiring. The manufacturer’s technical specification states a minimum back-box depth of 47mm.
