Description

Ovia OV9800WHEMMWST Evo Deco XL LED Bulkhead with Microwave Sensor & Self-Test Emergency

The Ovia OV9800WHEMMWST combines intelligent lighting control, emergency compliance and installation flexibility in a single high-performance LED bulkhead.

Designed for commercial, residential and public-sector applications, this Evo Deco XL bulkhead features an integrated microwave sensor, maintained self-test emergency pack and selectable colour temperature settings, making it an ideal solution for corridors, stairwells, communal areas, service corridors and utility spaces.

The built-in microwave sensor automatically detects occupancy and can be adjusted using DIP switch settings, helping reduce energy consumption in areas where lighting is not continuously required. A corridor function further improves energy efficiency by allowing reduced output levels when areas are unoccupied.

With selectable 3000K, 4000K and 6000K colour temperatures, installers can adapt the lighting appearance on-site without changing the fitting. During a mains power failure, the integrated self-test emergency system automatically provides emergency illumination while monitoring battery and system health, helping reduce maintenance requirements.

Constructed from durable polycarbonate and protected by IP54 and IK08 ratings, the OV9800WHEMMWST is built to withstand demanding commercial environments while delivering reliable long-term performance.

FAQ's

Why is a microwave sensor often preferred over a PIR sensor in communal areas?

Microwave sensors can detect movement through certain non-metallic materials and generally provide more consistent coverage around corners, doorways and stairwells. This often makes them more suitable for communal areas where occupancy patterns are unpredictable.

What is a corridor function and how much energy can it save?

A corridor function allows the fitting to dim to a lower light level when no movement is detected rather than switching off completely. This helps maintain visibility while significantly reducing energy consumption in low-traffic areas. The OV9800WHEMMWST offers configurable corridor dimming levels via its microwave sensor settings.

Why are self-test emergency lights increasingly specified in commercial buildings?

Manual emergency lighting testing can become time-consuming and costly in large buildings. Self-test fittings automatically perform routine diagnostic checks and identify potential faults, helping facilities managers reduce maintenance time and improve compliance monitoring.

Is a CCT switchable bulkhead better than choosing a fixed colour temperature?

For contractors and wholesalers, CCT switchable fittings reduce stockholding because one product can provide warm white, cool white or daylight output. This flexibility can simplify procurement and prevent installation delays when project specifications change.
