JCC JCEM110016BLK EscapeLUX Black IP66 Self-Test Emergency Bulkhead

Combine dependable emergency lighting with a contemporary black finish using the JCC JCEM110016BLK EscapeLUX emergency bulkhead. Designed for escape routes, stairways, corridors and exit points, it provides 300 lumens of clear 6000K daylight-white illumination when the normal mains supply fails.

The black enclosure is particularly suited to dark ceilings, exposed building services, cinemas, hospitality venues, modern offices, car parks and industrial interiors where a conventional white emergency fitting may look visually intrusive.

Maintained or non-maintained operation

The JCEM110016BLK can be configured for either maintained or non-maintained operation.

In maintained mode, the LED can operate during normal building use and remain illuminated when the mains supply fails. In non-maintained mode, the emergency light remains off under normal conditions and activates automatically following a power cut.

The appropriate operating mode should be determined by the emergency lighting design, the building’s use and the required visibility of the exit legend.

Selectable manual or automatic self-testing

Electricians can select manual-test or automatic self-test operation during installation. Self-test mode performs scheduled checks of the LED module, battery connection, battery discharge and emergency duration.

A bi-colour indicator helps maintenance teams identify the fitting’s condition. Green indicates normal operation or an active test, while different red indicator patterns report battery, light-source or duration failures.

Automatic testing reduces routine manual intervention, but it does not remove the requirement for regular visual inspections, fault response and an accurate emergency lighting logbook.

Three-hour LiFePO₄ emergency battery

The integrated LiFePO₄ battery provides a minimum emergency duration of three hours after receiving the required initial 24-hour uninterrupted charge.

Lithium iron phosphate battery technology offers a dependable solution for emergency lighting installations. JCC provides a five-year warranty covering both the fitting and its battery, helping contractors and building operators plan a lower-maintenance installation.

IP66 protection for demanding environments

The enclosure is rated IP66, providing complete protection against dust and resistance to powerful water jets. This makes the bulkhead suitable for demanding indoor environments and many correctly designed exterior applications.

Potential locations include warehouses, covered car parks, service yards, loading areas, plant rooms, transport facilities and exposed circulation routes. Correctly rated cable glands and sealing methods must be used so the completed installation retains its IP66 protection.
