The JCC JC74005 Rakula LED Downlight is a high-output commercial fitting designed for projects that require professional lighting control. It supports DALI, 1–10V and retractive switch dimming, allowing contractors and lighting designers to select the most appropriate control method for offices, schools, hotels, retail premises, meeting rooms, public buildings and other commercial environments.

With selectable wattage, three selectable colour temperatures and up to 2400 lumens, the JC74005 provides both installation flexibility and precise control over everyday lighting levels.

Selectable 14W or 20W output

The electrician can configure the downlight to operate at either:

• 14W with approximately 1690 lumens for efficient general lighting or areas with closer fitting spacing
• 20W with approximately 2400 lumens for larger rooms, higher ceilings and applications requiring stronger illumination

Selectable wattage allows the same fitting to be used throughout a project while adapting its maximum output to individual rooms. This can simplify ordering, reduce the number of variants held on site and help prevent unnecessary energy consumption.

With efficiency of up to approximately 121 lumens per circuit watt, the Rakula provides a strong LED replacement for older compact fluorescent and conventional commercial downlights.

Professional commercial lighting control

The JC74005 provides several control options:

• DALI control for addressable lighting systems, scene control and integration with compatible building-management solutions
• 1–10V dimming for analogue commercial lighting control
• Retractive switch dimming for straightforward push-switch brightness adjustment without a conventional rotary dimmer

The correct control wiring must be installed according to JCC’s instructions. Control types should not be combined unless the manufacturer’s documentation specifically allows it.

The JC74005 is not intended for standard leading- or trailing-edge wall dimmers. Where Triac dimming is required, JCC JC74004 is the appropriate Rakula variant.

Three selectable colour temperatures

The required colour appearance can be chosen during installation:

• 3000K warm white for hotels, restaurants, reception areas and welcoming customer spaces
• 4000K neutral white for offices, classrooms, corridors and general commercial interiors
• 5700K daylight white for bright, task-focused workplaces and service areas

Colour temperature selection is separate from brightness control. DALI, 1–10V or switch dimming adjusts the output but does not automatically change the chosen CCT.

Broad, useful illumination

A 56-degree beam angle produces wide downward illumination, helping light larger areas more evenly than a narrow spotlight. This makes the JC74005 suitable for general lighting across desks, corridors, reception counters, meeting spaces and retail floors.

For specification projects, fitting quantities and spacing should be calculated using the installation height, target lux level and JCC photometric data.

Designed for larger commercial apertures

The downlight fits ceiling openings between 145mm and 155mm and has an overall diameter of 174mm. Its larger bezel makes it a practical retrofit option for replacing older commercial downlights without substantially modifying the existing aperture.

The fitting is approximately 87mm deep and requires a minimum 100mm ceiling void. Spring clips secure the downlight within the ceiling.

Its driver includes loop-in/loop-out connections with permanent-live and earth provision, supporting efficient wiring and suitable compatible emergency-lighting arrangements.

IP65 and TP(a)-rated

The IP65 rating provides protection against dust and water jets, supporting use in bathrooms, washrooms and other demanding interior environments. Final suitability depends on the location, bathroom zone, circuit design and compliance with BS 7671.

The fitting is also TP(a)-rated for specification-led commercial projects. This rating relates to the performance of thermoplastic components and does not make the fitting a fire-rated downlight for ceiling-integrity purposes.
