Description
The JCC JC74004 Rakula Triac Dimmable LED Downlight combines high commercial light output with adjustable wattage, selectable colour temperature and convenient mains dimming. Designed for larger ceiling apertures, it is a practical choice for offices, hotels, restaurants, retail premises, reception areas, conference rooms and premium residential interiors where users need control over brightness.
Its clean white finish, broad light distribution and IP65 rating make it suitable for a wide variety of interior projects, while compatibility with leading- and trailing-edge dimmers provides more flexible lighting control than the non-dimmable JC74003.
Select between 14W and 20W
The electrician can configure the power and output during installation:
- 14W produces approximately 1690 lumens, suitable for general commercial lighting and areas with closer downlight spacing
- 20W produces approximately 2400 lumens, providing stronger illumination for larger rooms or higher ceilings
This allows the same fitting to be used across different rooms while adapting the output to suit the project. With efficiency of up to approximately 121 lumens per circuit watt, the JC74004 provides a strong replacement option for older compact fluorescent and inefficient commercial downlights.
Triac dimming for adjustable brightness
The JC74004 supports Triac leading- and trailing-edge dimming, allowing customers to adjust the brightness with a compatible mains dimmer. Dimming can help create different lighting levels for presentations, hospitality environments, evening use, customer-facing spaces and multifunction rooms.
The electrician must select a compatible LED dimmer and consider its minimum load, maximum LED load and permitted number of fittings. Compatibility should be checked before installing multiple downlights on the same dimming circuit.
This product is not a DALI or 1–10V model. Where these control protocols are required, the correct Rakula variant should be specified.
Three selectable colour temperatures
The colour appearance can be selected during installation:
- 3000K warm white for hotels, restaurants, lounges and welcoming customer areas
- 4000K neutral white for offices, schools, shops, corridors and general workplaces
- 5700K daylight white for bright, task-focused and service environments
The selected CCT remains fixed during everyday operation. The wall dimmer adjusts brightness, not the colour temperature.
Broad commercial illumination
A 56-degree beam angle distributes light across a wider area than a narrow spotlight. This makes the JC74004 well suited to general room illumination, helping create more consistent coverage across floors, desks, counters and circulation routes.
It delivers CRI Ra 80 colour rendering and can be incorporated into professionally calculated layouts using JCC photometric data.
Ideal for larger replacement apertures
The downlight fits 145–155mm ceiling cut-outs and has an overall diameter of 174mm, making it particularly useful for replacing older large-format commercial fittings.
A minimum 100mm ceiling void is required. Spring clips secure the fitting within the aperture, while the supplied driver offers loop-in/loop-out terminals with permanent-live and earth provision for efficient installation.
The luminaire is Class II. Earth provision is included to maintain circuit protective conductor continuity where required.
IP65 and TP(a)-rated construction
The IP65 rating provides protection against dust and water jets, supporting installation in bathrooms, washrooms and other demanding interior areas. The electrician must confirm suitability for the intended bathroom zone and compliance with BS 7671.
The fitting is also TP(a)-rated for specification-led projects. TP(a) classification concerns the performance of thermoplastic components and should not be mistaken for a fire-rated downlight classification.
