Description

The JCC Rakula JC74001 gives electricians one recessed downlight with a choice of 7W or 10W output and three colour temperatures: 3000K, 4000K and 5700K. That flexibility is useful when planning lighting across kitchens, corridors, bathrooms, offices, reception areas and other commercial interiors. Select a warmer appearance for a welcoming space or a cooler white where clearer looking light is preferred. 

This is the white, IP65, TRIAC dimmable Rakula model. It supports compatible leading and trailing edge dimming, allowing the light level to be adjusted for the room and its controls. Its 56° beam angle provides a directed spread of light for planned recessed downlight layouts. JCC also identifies the fitting as TP(a) rated. 

JC74001 is useful for both new installations and suitable replacement projects. JCC’s product summary and current installation sheet specify a 90–102mm ceiling cut-out for the 7W/10W model. The white downlight has a 114mm outer diameter, uses spring clips and needs a minimum 85mm ceiling void according to the technical listing. These measurements should be checked before ordering for an existing hole, especially when replacing an older fitting.

Is JCC Rakula JC74001 dimmable?
Yes. JC74001 is the TRIAC dimmable model and JCC lists compatibility with leading and trailing edge dimming. Check the chosen dimmer and the total connected load before installation.

Does JC74001 work with DALI or 1–10V controls?
JC74001 is specified for TRIAC dimming. JCC identifies JC74002 as the 7W/10W Rakula version for DALI, 1–10V and switch dim control. Order by the exact code required for the control system.

What ceiling cut-out does the JCC JC74001 need?
JCC’s product summary and current installation sheet specify 90–102mm for the 7W/10W Rakula. Its technical tab also displays 90–112mm, which conflicts with those documents. For an existing opening above 102mm, confirm suitability with JCC before ordering.

What are the bezel size and ceiling void requirement?
The JC74001 measures 114mm in diameter, and JCC’s technical listing specifies a minimum void requirement of 85mm. The installation instructions also require space around the fitting and prohibit insulation coverage.

Can I change both the wattage and colour temperature?
Yes. Select 7W or 10W, then choose 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white or 5700K cool daylight-like light. JCC says to isolate the power before changing the CCT setting.

How bright is JCC JC74001?
JCC’s product technical tab lists 840/1,180 lumens, while its March 2026 Rakula installation sheet lists up to 1,120 lumens for the TRIAC JC74001. Because those published figures differ, confirm the current photometric data with JCC if a project depends on a particular lumen output.

Is the IP65 JCC Rakula JC74001 suitable outdoors?
No. JCC’s installation instructions specify indoor use only for this product. IP65 should not be taken as an outdoor approval.
