Description
The JCC JC73031 Parluma LED Downlight combines flexible lighting performance with a distinctive all-dark appearance. Its black outer bezel and black nickel reflector make it an attractive alternative to conventional white commercial downlights, particularly in contemporary retail spaces, restaurants, bars, hotels, reception areas and modern residential interiors.
Instead of committing to one wattage and colour temperature when ordering, customers and contractors can configure the JC73031 during installation. The selectable 6W or 9W output and three colour-temperature settings make it easier to use one downlight across several areas of the same project.
Select the right output for each area
At the 6W setting, the downlight delivers approximately 760 lumens, providing efficient illumination for smaller rooms, corridors and areas where more restrained lighting is required.
The 9W setting increases the output to approximately 1080 lumens, making it suitable for larger spaces, higher illumination requirements and wider commercial lighting schemes.
The three selectable colour temperatures allow the atmosphere to be adjusted for the application:
- 3000K warm white for restaurants, bars, lounges, hotels and comfortable residential spaces
- 4000K neutral white for shops, kitchens, offices, corridors and general commercial areas
- 5700K daylight white for bright, task-orientated environments
Its 40-degree beam angle provides controlled downward illumination, helping lighting designers and electricians create organised rows or grids of focused ceiling lighting.
Contemporary black and black nickel finish
The combination of a black bezel and black nickel reflector gives the JCC JC73031 a more architectural appearance than a standard white downlight. It works especially well with dark ceilings, exposed-services interiors, monochrome décor and commercial spaces where the lighting needs to complement the overall design.
The downlight has an overall diameter of 106mm and fits ceiling apertures measuring between 90mm and 98mm, making it a practical option for both new installations and suitable refurbishment projects.
Installation features for electricians
The supplied driver includes loop-in/loop-out connections with permanent-live and earth provision, helping contractors wire multiple fittings efficiently. Spring clips secure the downlight within the ceiling, while its Class II construction provides double-insulated electrical protection.
A minimum ceiling void of 95mm is required. The luminaire must not be covered with thermal insulation, and the manufacturer’s specified clearances must be maintained around the fitting and driver.
The IP65 rating provides protection against dust and water jets, allowing the downlight to be considered for bathrooms and other demanding interior locations. Final positioning must comply with applicable bathroom zones, BS 7671 and the manufacturer’s instructions.
The JC73031 is the non-dimmable version of the Parluma downlight. It should be operated from a conventional switched lighting circuit and must not be connected to a dimmer. Other Parluma models are available for Triac, DALI, 1–10V and switch-dim systems.
