Create coordinated colour-changing lighting across larger indoor and protected exterior projects with the JCC JC121327 50m IP65 RGBW LED strip. Supplied as a long contractor reel, this professional 24V LED tape can be divided into multiple sections for hospitality venues, covered terraces, bars, hotels, entertainment areas and architectural features.

The strip combines red, green, blue and a dedicated 3000K warm-white channel. Customers can use vibrant colours and dynamic effects for entertainment or atmosphere, then switch to a comfortable warm-white setting for relaxed everyday lighting.

Colour-changing and dedicated warm-white lighting

When connected to compatible JCC RGBW control equipment, the four LED channels can produce 16 colour options. Brightness, static colours and available dynamic effects are managed through the selected RGBW controller and remote.

Unlike standard RGB tape, JC121327 includes dedicated white LEDs. This produces a more useful 3000K warm-white setting without relying on mixed red, green and blue light to simulate white.

Professional 50-metre project reel

The JC121327 consumes 7.2W per metre, meaning the complete 50-metre reel represents a calculated connected load of 360W.

A full reel cannot be connected to one 350W JCC RGBW controller. It should also not be operated as one long, single-end-fed run because voltage drop may cause reduced brightness or inconsistent colours further along the tape.

A practical design option is to divide the reel into five 10-metre lighting sections. Each section has a calculated 72W load and can be paired with appropriately specified RGBW control equipment and a suitable 24V constant-voltage driver.

Several controllers may be assigned to compatible remote-control groups or zones where coordinated operation is required. The final design must account for tape length, driver capacity, controller limits, cable size and voltage drop.

IP65 protection for demanding locations

The IP65 construction protects the unmodified strip against dust and water jets, making it suitable for correctly designed installations where standard IP20 tape would not provide sufficient protection.

However, cutting the tape or adding connectors interrupts its protective covering. Every exposed end and connection must be resealed using suitable heat-shrink protection, compatible silicone end caps and appropriate silicone sealant.

The driver, controller, cable entries and terminations must also have protection suitable for their location. IP65 does not make the strip suitable for submersion or continual exposure to running water.

Precise cutting and professional finishing

The tape can be cut every 100mm at the marked copper contacts, helping electricians prepare accurately measured sections. All reconnections must preserve the positive, red, green, blue and white channel polarity.

Installing the tape inside a suitable aluminium profile helps protect it, assists heat dissipation and supports a diffuser for a cleaner, more uniform lighting effect.
