Description

The JCC JC100203 Skypack Pro CCT is the combined microwave on/off and emergency version of JCC’s 4ft colour selectable LED batten. During normal operation, its microwave sensor lets the light respond to movement. The fitting also contains a LiFePO4 emergency battery for reduced-output lighting when the normal supply fails. This combination makes it a useful product to consider for suitably designed indoor corridors, offices, utility spaces and circulation areas where both functions are specified.

Choose the normal lighting appearance to suit the space: 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white or 5700K cool white. JCC also provides four output settings, with listed normal light outputs of 3200, 4050, 4900 and 5680 lumens. A contractor can use the same fitting style across several rooms while selecting an appropriate colour and output for each area. The final number and spacing of fittings should be chosen for the room, its mounting height and the required illumination.

Wattage figures for the emergency model

JCC’s headline calls the selectable light settings 21W, 27W, 33W and 38W. Its electrical specification for JC100203 lists 25W, 31W, 37W and 42W luminaire circuit wattages. Use the latter figures when checking the connected electrical load of this emergency model. The selectable settings determine the normal output range; they do not make the fitting dimmable. JCC lists JC100203 as non-dimmable and describes its sensor as microwave on/off.

The emergency output is much lower than the normal output. JCC specifies an emergency light output ratio of 8%, 6%, 5% or 5% across the four circuit settings. The normal 3200–5680 lumen figures must not be used to decide emergency coverage. A competent designer or installer should assess the actual escape route or open area, then commission and test the fitting within the complete emergency lighting system.

FAQ's

What happens if the mains supply fails?
JC100203 has emergency battery operation intended to provide reduced light when normal power fails, provided it has been correctly installed, charged and commissioned. The emergency function should be tested as part of the premises’ lighting system; do not judge it from normal sensor operation alone.

Is it as bright on battery power as it is normally?
No. JCC lists 3200–5680 lumens for normal operation and separate emergency output ratios of 8%, 6%, 5% and 5% by setting. Emergency spacing must be calculated from the emergency performance. jcc.co.uk

Does it provide enough emergency light for an entire corridor?
The product specification alone cannot answer that. Corridor length, width, obstructions, mounting positions and the required emergency lighting design determine the number and placement of fittings.

Is this a self-test emergency model?
JCC’s JC100203 page confirms emergency operation, but does not clearly describe this code as self-test. Check the supplied emergency module and SKU-specific documentation before advertising an automatic self-test feature.

Does the microwave sensor dim the light when nobody is there?
JCC describes this model as microwave on/off and lists Dimmable: No. It should not be described as a step-dimming or permanently low-level corridor light.

Why are there 21–38W and 25–42W figures?
JCC’s headline and features describe 21/27/33/38W selectable light settings. Its electrical table gives 25/31/37/42W luminaire circuit wattage for this emergency version. Use the circuit wattages when planning the electrical load.

How bright are the four normal settings?
JCC lists 3200, 4050, 4900 and 5680 lumens. How much illumination reaches a desk or floor depends on the fitting layout and mounting height.
