Description

The JCC JC030032 combines a clean white 4ft linear LED light with a self-test emergency function. It is designed for indoor commercial spaces that need useful everyday illumination and an appropriately planned emergency lighting installation. Think offices, classrooms, meeting rooms and circulation areas where the fitting’s appearance, glare performance and emergency specification all matter. JCC specifies UGR<19 for the luminaire, making it a strong candidate for workspace lighting designs where discomfort glare needs careful consideration. The result in any particular room still depends on the complete layout.

When mains power is available, the fitting supplies normal room lighting. Its emergency battery system is intended to provide reduced output when the normal supply fails. Emergency output is substantially lower than the normal 2860–4020 lumen range: JCC lists its emergency light output ratio as 13% to 9%, depending on the setting. An emergency lighting designer should confirm the number and position of fittings needed for the actual escape route or open area; a single fitting cannot be assumed to cover a space on its own.

Choose the output and colour for the space

The light has four selectable normal-light output settings. JCC’s headline features describe 22W, 25W, 28W and 31W settings, producing a stated 2860, 3300, 3650 and 4020 lumens respectively at the manufacturer’s 4000K reference setting. The product’s electrical specification lists the corresponding luminaire circuit wattages as 24W, 27W, 30W and 33W for this emergency version. For ordering or electrical planning, it is useful to keep that distinction clear: the headline selectable settings and the complete fitting’s listed circuit power are presented differently by JCC.

Colour temperature is selectable too. Set it to 3000K warm white for a softer appearance, 4000K neutral white for a balanced work setting, or 5700K cool white where a cooler-looking light is wanted. An electrician can choose the power and colour during installation; JCC instructs installers to isolate the supply before changing either setting. This flexibility is particularly helpful when specifying several rooms before every finish and furniture layout has been finalised.

Self-test information that helps maintenance teams

The self-test emergency system is the key reason to choose JC030032 over the standard JC030031. JCC’s instructions describe an automatic short function test and a 180-minute duration test every 180 days. The status indicator helps a responsible person identify normal operation, charging, an active test or a fault. Self-testing supports routine inspection; the results still need to be dealt with and recorded as required by the premises’ emergency lighting procedures.

FAQ's

What makes JC030032 different from JC030031?
JC030032 includes self-test emergency operation and a LiFePO4 battery. JC030031 is the standard version without an emergency function. Both are 4ft UGR<19 fittings, but their listed luminaire circuit wattages differ, so use the exact product code when specifying or comparing them.

Does the light remain on if there is a power cut?
It has an emergency battery function intended to provide illumination when the normal supply fails. Its emergency light output is reduced from the normal mains-powered output. The installer must wire and commission the emergency function correctly.

Will it produce 4020 lumens in emergency mode?
No. 4020 lumens is the highest listed normal-light output at 4000K. JCC separately lists an emergency light output ratio of 13% to 9%, depending on the setting. Do not use the full normal output to calculate emergency coverage.

What does “self-test emergency” mean?
The fitting carries out automatic checks of its emergency function and uses an indicator to show its status. JCC’s instructions identify a short automatic function test and a 180-minute duration test every 180 days. A responsible person still needs to respond to faults and manage the building’s inspection records.

Is it a three-hour emergency light?
JCC’s self-test instructions identify a 180-minute duration test. Have the installer check and record the commissioned emergency performance as part of the site’s emergency lighting design and maintenance arrangements.

Does self-test mean nobody has to inspect the emergency lighting?
No. The automatic test and status indicator provide useful information, but faults need attention and the premises’ emergency lighting checks and records still need to be managed.

What do the green and red indicators mean?
JCC’s instructions show solid green for a charged battery in normal operation, green flashing patterns for charging or automatic tests, solid red for a load failure in emergency mode, and slow red flashing for a battery fault. The exact flash pattern matters, so consult the instruction sheet when diagnosing a fitting.
