JCC BC020009 12W 24V Non-Dimmable IP20 LED Strip Driver

Power shorter runs of single-colour or RGBW LED tape with the compact JCC BC020009 12W 24V constant-voltage LED driver. Designed for small indoor lighting installations, it converts a 220–240V AC mains supply into a stable 24V DC output for compatible low-voltage LED strip.

Its compact 98mm x 39mm x 22mm enclosure makes BC020009 particularly useful for cabinet lighting, shelving, display furniture, kitchen plinths, short sections of coving and other applications where only a modest amount of LED tape is required.

Suitable for single-colour and RGBW LED strip

The BC020009 can power compatible 24V single-colour LED tape directly or provide the 24V supply required by a separate RGBW controller.

When used with RGBW tape, the driver supplies fixed-voltage power to the controller, while the controller manages the individual red, green, blue and white channels. The combined connected load must remain within the driver’s 12W maximum.

Maximum LED strip run lengths

The permitted tape length depends on its wattage per metre. JCC specifies the following maximums:

• 4.8W/m LED strip: up to 2.5 metres
• 9.6W/m LED strip: approximately 1.3 metres
• 14.4W/m LED strip: approximately 0.8 metres based on the 12W driver capacity

The load can be checked using:

Tape wattage per metre × installed length = total connected load

The calculated total must not exceed 12W. Strip cutting intervals, cable length and voltage drop must also be considered when determining the final usable length.

Fixed-output, non-dimmable driver

The JCC BC020009 is a non-dimmable driver. It must not be connected to a leading-edge, trailing-edge or other mains dimmer.

For a single-colour installation requiring brightness control, a compatible dimmable driver should be selected instead. RGBW systems may use compatible low-voltage control equipment after the driver, provided the driver continues to receive a standard switched mains supply.

Compact indoor installation

The white IP20 enclosure is designed for dry indoor locations. It must not be installed outdoors or exposed to water, condensation or excessive moisture.

Adequate airflow must be maintained around the driver. It must not be covered with thermal insulation or enclosed in a location where heat cannot escape. The driver should also remain accessible for inspection, testing and replacement.

The LED strip, RGBW controller, connectors, cables and aluminium profiles are not included. Installation should be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK wiring regulations.
