Description
The Heatrae Sadia Hotflo 95050149 is a 15 litre, 2.2kW unvented electric storage water heater for local hot-water supplies. Designed for undersink installation, it provides stored hot water without requiring a separate cold-water storage cistern.
Heatrae Sadia gives guidance of up to three basins for this capacity, making it an option for small commercial washrooms and similar premises. Actual suitability depends on how much water is used, how frequently outlets operate and whether they are used together.
The 15 litre tank holds 50% more water than the Hotflo 10 litre model, while retaining the same nominal 2.2kW heating power. It offers a larger stored reserve rather than a higher-powered heating element.
Copper storage tank with adjustable temperature
The heater has a high-grade copper inner vessel, with no sacrificial anode to inspect or replace. Regular servicing and descaling where necessary still form part of maintaining the heater.
An externally adjustable thermostat allows temperature selection between 10°C and 70°C. The element-on indicator shows when heating is taking place, and the manufacturer specifies a replaceable heating element.
This is a storage water heater. Once a substantial amount of hot water has been drawn off, the replacement cold water needs time to heat. Selecting the right capacity means considering the pattern of use as well as the number of basins.
Compatible with standard taps and mixers
The unvented design works with standard taps or mixers when correctly installed. It does not require the specialist open-outlet tap arrangement associated with vented water heaters.
A pressure expansion relief valve is supplied. The installer must also assess incoming water pressure and how thermal expansion will be accommodated. An expansion vessel, check valve and pressure-reducing valve are separate accessories where required by the installation conditions.
The supplied relief valve should not be confused with the separate combined temperature and pressure relief valve accessory.
Check cupboard height and installation space
The white unit measures 656mm high, 267mm wide and 252mm deep. It must remain vertical, with its water connections at the top, and can be wall mounted or supported on its base as described in the instructions.
Allow space above the heater for connections, required accessories and service access. Its 23.4kg filled weight must also be considered when choosing the supporting surface or wall fixings.
Manufactured in the UK, the Hotflo 15 is IPX4 rated and carries a two-year manufacturer guarantee with on-site service support, subject to terms.
