Description

The Heatrae Sadia Streamline 95010284 is a 10-litre, 1kW vented undersink water heater for applications where small amounts of hot water are needed. It stores heated water close to the outlet, making it a practical option for a single washroom or small office kitchen.

This is the Streamline 10/1 undersink model. Its compact design allows the heater to sit beneath the sink while leaving the tap accessible above. It is a storage water heater, so the available hot water and reheating time should be considered when matching it to the intended use.

Requires a compatible open-vented tap

This heater must be used with a compatible Heatrae Sadia open-vented tap or mixer, sold separately. An ordinary tap designed for a pressurised hot water supply is not a substitute.

The tap arrangement keeps the heater open to the atmosphere. As the stored water heats and expands, some dripping from the tap can be normal. The outlet must remain unrestricted because it also provides the heater’s vent.

Check tap compatibility before ordering, especially when replacing an existing undersink heater. Two products with the same storage capacity can require different plumbing arrangements.

Adjustable temperature with a handwashing lock option

The external thermostat adjusts from 5°C to 70°C, allowing the temperature setting to be selected for the application. A 40°C thermostat lock position is also provided for handwashing applications.

The installer should select and commission the temperature setting for the intended use. The lock is a thermostat feature and should not be confused with a separate thermostatic mixing valve.

A long-life alloy-sheathed heating element and dry-start cut-out are included. The heater must still be filled with water before the electrical supply is switched on.

FAQ's

Can this heater be connected to a standard kitchen mixer tap?

No. The Streamline requires a compatible Heatrae Sadia open-vented tap or mixer. A standard mixer intended for pressurised hot water systems does not provide the required venting arrangement.

Why is the correct vented tap essential?

The hot outlet also acts as the heater’s vent. The specified tap arrangement allows expansion water to escape and keeps the storage vessel open to the atmosphere.

Is dripping from the tap during heating normal?

Yes. Water expands as it heats, and the vented tap may drip during the heating cycle. This is normal operation; the outlet must not be restricted to stop it.

Why does the specification show zero operating pressure when the heater uses a mains supply?

The storage vessel operates at atmospheric pressure through its open outlet. This is different from the incoming supply pressure, which must meet the installation requirements.

What incoming water pressure is permitted?

The manual specifies 0.34–2 bar. Where incoming pressure exceeds 2 bar, a pressure reducing valve must be fitted.

Is the supplied flow restrictor required even when supply pressure is within range?

Yes. The manufacturer requires the inlet flow restrictor to be fitted. Meeting the pressure requirement does not remove this requirement.

How far can the heater be installed from the tap?

The manual limits the hot outlet pipe run to 1m and requires it to rise continuously. Check the proposed cupboard and tap positions before ordering.

What pipework connects to the heater?

The instructions specify 15mm copper or plastic pipe, connected to the supplied adaptor pipes using suitable compression or push-fit connectors.
