EPH CP5i Smart Heating Control with Thermostat, Receiver and Gateway

The EPH CP5i is a complete smart thermostat kit for controlling a compatible combi boiler or a single heating zone. It combines the RFRP-TW programmable touch thermostat, RF1B wireless receiver and GW04-v2 gateway, giving you local temperature control and remote access through the EMBER app.

It is a useful option for heating upgrades and home renovations where you want programmable room heating, app access and the option of OpenTherm communication with a compatible boiler.

Adjust Your Heating Locally or through the EMBER App

The thermostat has a clear backlit display and touch controls for adjusting the target temperature. You can follow a programmed schedule, make a temporary change until the next scheduled period, or select manual operation.

The included gateway connects your heating controls to the EMBER app. Once installed and connected to the internet, you can manage your heating remotely from a compatible smartphone.

The GW04-v2 supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, together with an Ethernet/LAN connection option. This gives you a choice of network connection when setting up the system.

OpenTherm Control for Compatible Boilers

When correctly connected to an OpenTherm-compatible boiler, the CP5i supports modulating heating control. This allows communication between the controls and boiler rather than relying solely on a basic on/off heating demand.

OpenTherm compatibility must be checked against the exact boiler model and installation requirements. The RF1B also provides relay switching options for suitable systems, so your installer can confirm the correct control arrangement before installation.

Heating Schedules That Follow Your Routine

Choose 7-day, 5/2-day or 24-hour programming, with up to six time-and-temperature periods per day.

You can set warmer temperatures for occupied periods and lower temperatures when less heating is needed. The schedule works through target temperatures rather than simple boiler on/off times.

The thermostat also includes Normal, Optimum Start and TPI operating options. Optimum Start can begin heating before a programmed period to help reach the target temperature by its start time. Your installer can select the appropriate operating mode for the system.

Wireless Room Thermostat with Flexible Positioning

The room thermostat uses four AAA alkaline batteries and communicates wirelessly with the receiver. This avoids the need for a new thermostat cable between the room control and receiver, although the receiver still requires a wired connection to the heating system.

The thermostat can be wall mounted or used with the supplied table stand. It should be positioned where it can measure room temperature accurately, away from radiators, direct sunlight and draughts.

Options for Future Expansion

EPH supports systems with up to six compatible thermostats in total, using the appropriate additional receivers and heating controls. The CP5i pack itself supplies one thermostat and one single-zone receiver.

For homeowners and installers, it brings programmable heating, local controls, app connectivity and compatible OpenTherm operation into one kit. EPH lists a five-year warranty, subject to its terms.
