Description
The EPH EMBERTS21 smart thermostat kit combines a wireless touch thermostat, twin-channel receiver and internet gateway. It provides programmable room temperature control alongside a separate timed output, giving you control over heating and hot water, or another heating zone, depending on your installation.
The pack contains one RFRP-TW programmable thermostat, an RF2B two-zone receiver and a GW04-V2 dual-band gateway. With the gateway connected to your home network, you can access your heating controls remotely through the EMBER app.
Understand how the two channels work
Zone 1 provides time and temperature control. You choose the room temperatures you want throughout the day, and the thermostat calls for heating when needed.
Zone 2 provides timed on/off control. This secondary output can operate a hot water cylinder circuit or another heating zone within a suitable system. It does not provide a second independently measured room temperature using the single thermostat supplied. Where it controls stored hot water, the installation still needs the appropriate cylinder temperature and safety controls.
This distinction helps you choose the right kit: EMBERTS21 suits installations needing one programmable room thermostat and an additional timed channel.
Heating schedules that fit your routine
Choose 7-day, 5+2-day or 24-hour programming, with six daily time and temperature periods for Zone 1. You can set different weekday and weekend routines, or programme individual days.
Heating periods use temperature targets rather than simple off times. A lower overnight setting can therefore still bring the heating on if the room becomes colder than that target. Temporary override lets you change the temperature until the next scheduled period, while manual mode maintains a chosen setting.
Wireless thermostat with flexible positioning
The battery-powered thermostat communicates with the receiver by radio, avoiding a control cable between the room thermostat and receiver. Its backlit display makes settings easier to read, and it can be wall mounted or positioned on the supplied table stand.
The room heating temperature range is 5°C to 35°C.
Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection
The included gateway supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, plus an Ethernet connection. It links the compatible heating controls to the EMBER app for remote access.
The RF2B receiver requires a mains supply and professional installation. Although it includes OpenTherm terminals, EPH states that OpenTherm operation requires two RF thermostats connected to the receiver. The single-thermostat pack should therefore be selected around its stated heating and secondary timed-channel functions.
The kit carries a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
