Description

EnviroVent QURO LC QRST-LC 100mm Continuous Extractor Fan with Timer

The EnviroVent QURO LC QRST-LC is a white, continuously running extractor fan designed to provide background ventilation in bathrooms, en-suites, kitchens, utility rooms and WCs. It combines adjustable airflow, timer-controlled boost and a low-watt DC motor, helping remove moisture and everyday odours without relying solely on occasional extraction.

This is a 100mm dMEV fan, meaning it provides decentralised mechanical extract ventilation: an individual fan extracts air from the room directly outside or through dedicated ductwork. It is suited to residential ventilation projects where continuous extraction forms part of the property’s ventilation design.

Continuous ventilation with extra extraction when needed

The QURO LC operates at a lower trickle speed throughout normal use. This maintains background extraction between showers, cooking and other activities that introduce moisture into the home.

When more extraction is required, an external switch activates the higher boost speed. Once the activation ends, the over-run timer keeps the fan at boost for the selected period before returning it to its background setting.

This arrangement helps manage moisture throughout the day, rather than extracting air only while a room is occupied. The installer can select trickle settings between 5 and 19 l/s to suit the ventilation requirements.

Adjustable timer and automatic over-run control

The QRST-LC includes an adjustable 1–30-minute over-run timer, allowing the installer to set how long boost extraction continues after the external switch is released.

An automatic timer mode is also available. This varies the over-run period according to how long the external switch has been activated, providing an alternative to using the same fixed delay every time.

This model does not include a humidity sensor or pullcord. It is the timer-controlled version of the QURO LC range. Where automatic humidity activation is required, the corresponding model is QRHT-LC; QRHTP-LC adds humidity sensing, timer control and a pullcord.

Low-energy operation and quiet background running

The low-watt DC motor has a published maximum power consumption of 4.5W. Consumption depends on the operating setting, so this maximum should not be treated as its constant power use.

For noise-sensitive rooms, EnviroVent publishes a sound pressure level as low as 8.8 dB(A) at 5 l/s, measured at three metres in free-air conditions. Higher airflow settings and different installation arrangements produce different sound levels, making correct speed selection important.

The range is also SAP PCDB listed, with specific fan power down to 0.08 W/(l/s) in the applicable configuration.

Installer controls for wall and ducted applications

A side-mounted digital display gives access to the fan’s airflow, timer and installation settings, alongside operating information and error codes. Separate through-wall and ducted modes allow the installer to configure the unit for its installation.

Back-pressure detection helps the fan respond to changing resistance. Duct length, bends and the external termination still influence performance, so airflow should be checked during commissioning. EnviroVent publishes a maximum airflow of 30 l/s, equivalent to 108m³/h, rather than a guaranteed rate through every duct arrangement.

Compact white design with 100mm duct connection

The fan measures 175mm high × 175mm wide, with an overall depth of 128.5mm including the spigot. Its 99mm outlet spigot is designed for nominal 100mm ducting.

Wall and ceiling mounting are supported, following the manufacturer’s permitted orientations and installation requirements. The unit carries an IP45 rating, with its final position and electrical connections selected appropriately for the room.

FAQ's

Is the QRST-LC designed to run continuously?

Yes. It operates at a commissioned background trickle setting, increasing to boost when activated. After the over-run period, it returns to trickle rather than switching off completely.

Does this model include automatic humidity sensing?

No. QRST-LC is the timer model. QRHT-LC adds a humidity sensor, while QRHTP-LC includes humidity sensing, timer control and a pullcord.

How is boost activated on the QRST-LC?

The manufacturer specifies an external switch using the switched-live input, Ls. The installer should follow the QRST-LC wiring diagram and retain the supply needed for continuous operation.

What trickle speeds are available?

The LC instructions provide settings from 5 to 19 l/s in 1 l/s increments, with a factory setting of 8 l/s. The installer should select the airflow required for the property.

How does the automatic timer work?

It varies the over-run according to the duration of external-switch activation. For example, the manual gives 15 minutes of activation followed by five minutes of over-run. Fixed timer settings are also available.

Will it deliver 30 l/s through any duct run?

No universal installed airflow should be assumed. EnviroVent publishes a 30 l/s maximum, but the selected mode, duct resistance and termination affect performance. Confirm the required airflow during commissioning.

Is it below 9 dB(A) at every speed?

No. The 8.8 dB(A) figure applies at 5 l/s in free-air conditions, measured at 3m. Higher airflow and different installation conditions have higher published sound levels.

What does the 0.08 W/(l/s) SFP figure mean?

Specific fan power describes electrical power relative to airflow. The lowest published figure applies to through-wall configurations; the LC sheet lists different values for ducted installations. It is not the fan’s total wattage.

Does the fan always consume 4.5W?

No. EnviroVent publishes 4.5W as maximum power consumption. It should not be described as the constant consumption at every airflow setting.

Can it be fitted on a ceiling?

Yes. EnviroVent supports wall and ceiling installation, subject to the permitted orientations, clearances and duct arrangement in the instructions.
