Description

The Deta Vimark VK1001 LED in-line dimmer gives you adjustable lighting without a rotary dimmer on the wall. This compact module fits behind a push-to-make retractive light switch, so the switch is what you press to turn the lights on and off or hold to change their brightness. It is a useful option when you want the familiar appearance of a push-button switch alongside dimmable LED lighting. The retractive switch is a separate item to select for the installation.

For everyday use, the controls are straightforward. Press briefly to switch the light on or off. Press and hold to raise or lower the light level. Two quick presses take the light to maximum brightness, while three quick presses take it to the selected minimum. The VK1001 also remembers the last selected brightness level, so the light can return to the setting you were using. An installer can set a suitable minimum dimming level, which is particularly helpful when matching a dimmer to the behaviour of a chosen dimmable LED lamp.

FAQ's

What is the Deta Vimark VK1001?

It is a compact LED in-line dimmer module installed behind a push-to-make retractive light switch. A short press switches compatible lights on or off; pressing and holding changes the brightness. It supports 2–150W LED or incandescent loads, needs no neutral conductor at the module, remembers the last brightness setting and lets the installer set a minimum dimming level. The module measures 28 × 26 × 6mm, requires a minimum 25mm back box, and has a three-year Deta guarantee. Use it with suitable dimmable lamps and a correctly specified retractive switch.

What does an “in-line dimmer” do?
It is the electronic dimming module that sits behind the wall switch and controls a suitable lighting load. With VK1001, the user operates it through a push-to-make retractive switch rather than a rotary knob.

Is a light switch included with VK1001?
Deta describes VK1001 as an in-line dimmer module that is installed behind a retractive switch. Choose the appropriate push-to-make retractive switch separately and check the space available in its back box.

Can I keep my existing ordinary on/off switch?
Deta’s installation instructions say to replace a standard wall switch with a push-to-make retractive switch. An ordinary latching on/off switch should not be assumed to provide the VK1001’s specified operation.

How do I turn the light on and off?
Briefly press the retractive switch. The dimmer then turns the connected light on or off.

How do I make the lights brighter or darker?
Press and hold the retractive switch for more than three seconds. The brightness will move up or down until it reaches the set minimum or maximum; pressing and holding again restarts the adjustment.

Can I jump straight to full brightness?
Yes. Deta specifies two quick presses for maximum brightness. Three quick presses select the minimum brightness setting.
