Deta DB172 GridSwitch 9/12 Gang Flush Metal Back Box
Create a secure recessed enclosure for larger modular switching arrangements with the Deta DB172 GridSwitch 9/12 Gang Flush Metal Back Box.
Designed for compatible Deta GridSwitch installations, the DB172 provides a 42mm-deep galvanised steel enclosure for nine- or twelve-gang grid layouts. Its rectangular 132mm × 192mm format gives electricians useful wiring space for multiple modules, conductors and control connections while keeping the completed GridSwitch front plate flush against the wall.
The box includes 20mm and 25mm side and rear cable-entry knockouts, an earth terminal and an adjustable accessory lug. It is suitable for domestic, commercial and hospitality projects requiring several switches or controls to be grouped neatly at one location.
Designed for 9 and 12 Gang GridSwitch Layouts
The DB172 is intended for compatible nine- and twelve-gang Deta GridSwitch assemblies.
In this context, “9/12 gang” refers to the capacity of the compatible modular grid arrangement. It does not mean that nine or twelve conventional single-gang switch plates are fitted directly to the metal box.
A complete installation will normally require separately selected:
- Deta GridSwitch modules
- Compatible nine- or twelve-gang grid frame
- Matching GridSwitch front plate
- Module labels where required
- Appropriate wiring and cable protection
- Correctly sized fixing screws
