Description

The De’Longhi Pinguino Extreme PACEX93EXTREME combines air conditioning, dehumidifying and fan-only operation in one portable appliance. Finished in white, it is designed for home cooling, with integrated handles and castor wheels to help you move it between suitable rooms.

De’Longhi specifies 8,900 BTU/h cooling capacity, a separately tested 2.5kW cooling rating and guidance for rooms up to 85m³. Before ordering, check the room’s volume, heat gain and available route for the exhaust hose.

Cooling That Also Considers Humidity

Eco Real Feel technology monitors temperature and humidity together, adjusting compressor operation and airflow to maintain comfortable conditions. This is useful when a room feels humid as well as warm.

Choose from three fan speeds or automatic fan-speed control in cooling mode. Motorised louvres help direct the airflow, while the front-facing display and supplied remote control make everyday adjustments straightforward.

Three Modes for Different Conditions

Use air conditioning mode when you need refrigerated cooling, dehumidifying mode to reduce humidity, or fan-only mode for air circulation.

The appliance has a published dehumidification capacity of up to 60 litres per day, although actual moisture removal depends on room conditions. Cooling and dehumidifying both require the exhaust hose to discharge outside; fan-only operation does not require the hose.

Noise-Reduction Features and Timed Operation

Arctic Whisper Extreme and SuperSilent technologies are designed to reduce operating noise. The unit still produces fan and compressor sound, so consider your tolerance for appliance noise when choosing it for a bedroom or home office.

The timer allows delayed starting or stopping, helping you plan operation around when you expect to use the room. Its A+ cooling energy rating and published 810W input power provide useful figures when comparing models.

FAQ's

Does the 2.5kW cooling rating mean it consumes 2.5kW of electricity?

No. Cooling capacity describes heat removal. De’Longhi publishes an electrical input of 810W, which is a different measurement.

Why are both 8,900 BTU/h and 2.5kW quoted?

De’Longhi publishes the figures under different test conditions: 8,900 BTU/h at 35°C/80% relative humidity and 2.5kW at 35°C/40% relative humidity. They should not be presented as an exact unit conversion.

Does “up to 85m³” mean a room measuring 85m²?

No. Cubic metres measure volume. Calculate room volume by multiplying length × width × ceiling height, using metres.

Will it cool every room below 85m³ equally well?

No. Sunlight, insulation, glazing, occupants, electrical equipment and outdoor conditions affect the cooling load. The manufacturer’s maximum room-volume guidance is not a performance guarantee for every room.

Can it cool several rooms through open doors?

The published guidance relates to the space being conditioned. Do not assume the same performance across connected rooms, corridors or an entire home.

What room temperatures is cooling mode designed for?

The operating manual specifies a room-temperature range of 18°C to 35°C for air conditioning. This is an operating range, rather than a promise that every room will reach a particular temperature.

Venting and Installation

Does it need an exhaust hose through a window?

Cooling mode requires the hose to discharge outside. The manual describes suitable window arrangements and a semi-permanent wall or window-panel outlet.

Can I discharge the hose into another room or a loft?

The instructions require outside discharge. Releasing the warm exhaust into another indoor area does not follow the specified arrangement.

How long is the supplied exhaust hose?

De’Longhi specifies 1,200mm length and 130mm diameter. Check that the unit can stand near a suitable outlet before ordering.
