CP Electronics EBDSM-PRM PRM Switching Compact IP54 Ceiling Surface Mounted PIR Presence/Absence Detector

The CP Electronics EBDSM-PRM is a compact, white, surface-mounted ceiling PIR detector for presence or absence lighting control. Its self-contained design makes it useful where a recessed detector is impractical, allowing installation onto a suitable ceiling surface using the mounting backplate.

For an office, meeting room or other suitable commercial space, it provides a way to reduce unnecessary lighting operation while retaining the choice of automatic or manual switch-on.

Choose presence or absence operation

In presence mode, movement can switch the lighting on automatically. After movement stops, the lights switch off once the selected time delay has elapsed.

In absence mode, the user switches the lights on manually, and the detector switches them off after the area is no longer occupied. This mode requires a suitable retractive momentary switch connected as shown in the manufacturer’s instructions.

The detector is supplied in presence mode, with a default timeout of 20 minutes.

Adjustable timing and daylight switching

The built-in light sensor allows switching to respond to ambient light levels. With suitable settings, this can prevent unnecessary switch-on when daylight is sufficient.

Time delay, sensitivity and light-level settings can be adjusted using the optional UHS5 or UNLCDHS infrared programming handsets. This helps the installer commission the detector for the room’s layout and normal pattern of use.

This exact PRM model provides on/off switching. It does not provide the DALI/DSI or 1–10V dimming functions available on other EBDSM versions.
