Description

The CP Electronics BVITM6L503100W is a 3m, five-core luminaire lead for compatible modular lighting systems. It combines 1mm² LSF cable with a six-pole male connector, supplied with a white plug and black/blue coding.

Designed for dimming luminaires, it connects a compatible lighting control module output, ceiling rose or end-of-line tee module to the light fitting. It is a practical component for commercial lighting installations where power and dimming connections need to follow a consistent modular wiring arrangement.

Prepared for connection at the luminaire

The connector end provides the pluggable connection to the compatible system outlet. At the other end, the cable is prepared for termination into the luminaire, with 70mm of exposed inner cores and 10mm ferrules.

This preparation reduces the cable stripping and ferrule fitting needed at the light fitting. The installer still needs to check the luminaire terminals, wiring arrangement and cable restraint before completing the connection.

The 3m length should be selected to suit the actual cable route, including the distance between the outlet and fitting and the space needed for termination.

Check the connector coding before ordering

The white plug and black/blue coding describe different features. White identifies the plug housing, while black/blue identifies the connector combination used by this version.

CP Electronics also supplies black/grey versions. Its product guide specifically states that the black/blue and black/grey versions must not be mixed, so matching the number of poles alone is insufficient.

FAQ's

What does the BVITM6L503100W lead connect?

It connects a compatible modular lighting outlet to a dimming luminaire. Legrand identifies suitable connection points as an LCM output, ceiling rose or end-of-line tee module.

Why does it have six poles but only five cores?

The pole count describes the connector format; the core count describes the conductors in the cable. This model uses a six-pole connector with five cable cores.

What connections does the five-core arrangement provide?

The manufacturer’s guide shows switched live, neutral, protective earth and two dimming conductors. Confirm the terminal arrangement against the actual luminaire and control equipment.

Does it include a separate permanent-live conductor?

Not in the documented five-core arrangement. CP Electronics shows the additional permanent-live conductor on the six-core version.

Can it be used for dimming and emergency lighting together?

Where the fitting requires switched live, permanent live, neutral, earth and two dimming connections, six conductors are needed. Do not substitute this five-core lead for the specified six-core version.

Is black/blue coding interchangeable with black/grey?

No. CP Electronics’ product guide explicitly states that these versions must not be mixed. Check the coding on the existing outlet before ordering.

Is BVITM6L503100W the same as VITM6L503100W?

No. The manufacturer lists BVITM6L503100W with black/blue coding and VITM6L503100W with black/grey coding. The initial “B” is important when identifying the required version.
