Colour-selectable LED downlight for commercial interiors
The Collingwood Thea Lite CSP THL3T is a white 20W recessed LED downlight with mains dimming and three selectable colour temperatures. Designed for a 200mm ceiling cut-out, it provides general lighting for commercial interiors, including washrooms, cloakrooms, circulation areas and stairs.
This version includes its LED driver, making it a straightforward choice where a mains-dimmable fitting is required. Its white RAL 9003 finish suits a wide range of ceiling finishes, while the fixed 90° beam provides general downward illumination.
Choose warm white, cool white or daylight
The colour-temperature selector lets the installer choose the appearance of the light to suit the space:
-
3000K warm white - 2,200 lumens
-
4000K cool white - 2,400 lumens
-
6500K daylight - 2,400 lumens
Warm white provides a softer appearance, while cool white and daylight give a crisper look. Having these settings within one fitting helps when matching the lighting across different rooms or deciding on the final colour temperature during installation.
The power rating remains 20W. Colour selection changes the appearance of the light, rather than providing different wattage settings.
Mains dimming with the driver included
THL3T supports leading-edge and trailing-edge mains dimming, using a suitable compatible LED dimmer. This allows the brightness to be adjusted where the lighting design calls for more control.
Dimmer selection should account for the driver load, the number of fittings and the dimmer manufacturer’s compatibility guidance. This exact version should be specified as mains dimmable; DALI and other control arrangements within the wider range require the appropriate driver configuration.
Slim body with practical installation connections
The downlight body has a published depth of 33mm, helping where ceiling space is restricted. Allow additional room for the driver, connections and installation clearance rather than treating the body depth as the complete ceiling-void requirement.
A plug-and-play connection between the fitting and driver, together with push-fit loop-in/loop-out terminals, helps simplify installation and wiring between fittings.
Understand the protection above and below the ceiling
The fitting is rated IP54 from below and IP20 from above. The visible side therefore has splash protection, while the rear needs to remain in a suitably protected ceiling space.
Its TP(a) thermoplastic classification and published 850°C glow-wire test are useful specification details, but they should not be treated as confirmation of a fire-resistance duration.
The standard fitting does not include emergency operation. Compatible emergency conversion equipment is available separately. Collingwood lists a 50,000-hour LED lifetime and five-year product warranty, subject to its registration requirements and conditions.
