Description

The Collingwood DMB66X4K Domino Black is a recessed architectural LED panel for spaces where lighting performance and ceiling appearance both matter. Its black, multi-cell design gives a different look from a conventional plain white panel, while its UGR16 low-glare rating makes it relevant to lighting plans for offices, classrooms and retail spaces.

This exact product code is the 27W, 4000K dimmable version. It produces 4,350 lumens through a 75° beam and has a listed efficacy of 161 lumens per watt. The 4000K neutral white output is suited to projects specifying a consistent working light across desks, teaching areas or shop floors. The quantity and spacing of panels should be determined by the room’s lighting design.

Order the driver with the panel

The most important buying detail for DMB66X4K is that its driver is sold separately. Collingwood lists the PS6501100MA one4all driver for DALI-2, push-dim and 0–10V control. This allows the panel to be specified for a suitable dimming system, but the panel alone is not a complete powered fitting ready to connect to the mains. Check the driver and control specification when ordering for a new scheme or replacing an existing panel.

Collingwood’s Domino Black range also includes DMB66N4K. That is the non-dimmable version with an included, output-switchable driver, offering 22W, 24W, 25W and 27W settings. The range description mentions those four wattages, but DMB66X4K itself is listed at 27W. Choosing by the full product code prevents the wrong panel and driver combination being supplied to site.

Designed for commercial ceilings

The Domino Black is a nominal 600 × 600mm panel. Collingwood lists the DMB66X4K’s actual width and length as 595 × 595mm, for a recessed installation in a suitable ceiling arrangement. Its housing is steel with polycarbonate lenses. A two-part first-fix connector and security cable are listed by the manufacturer, giving the electrician useful details for planning installation and maintenance.

For busy commercial spaces, Collingwood specifies IK08 impact resistance, an IP40 rating and a TP(a) rating. It also lists an L90 lifetime of 51,000 hours. L90 is the manufacturer’s light-output maintenance measure; it is distinct from the product’s warranty period.

Add emergency operation only if the scheme requires it

DMB66X4K has no emergency function as supplied. Collingwood lists separately sold emergency converters among the Domino Black accessories. The correct combination of panel, driver, converter and controls needs to be selected for the emergency lighting design. Do not use the panel’s 4,350-lumen normal output as an emergency-output figure.

FAQ's

What supply does the DMB66X4K installation require?

Collingwood lists 220–240V AC input for the Domino Black system. The separately purchased driver connects to the mains and supplies the panel; DMB66X4K should not be wired directly to mains without its specified driver.

What conductor sizes are listed?

The Domino Black sheet lists 0.75–1.5mm² for its cable or flying lead. Collingwood’s PS6501100MA driver page separately lists 0.75–1.5mm² at the input and 0.5–1.5mm² at the output. Check the actual terminal markings and installation instructions before terminating cables.

What inrush current should I allow for when putting many panels on a circuit?

Collingwood’s panel sheet lists 28A for less than 50ms. Use the complete panel-and-driver specification, the number of fittings and the protective device characteristics when designing a circuit; 27W running power alone does not describe switch-on behaviour.

Where should I position the separate driver?

Put it where the installation instructions allow access, suitable ventilation and safe cable routing. Collingwood specifically says the driver must not be covered by insulation, although it lists the luminaire as coverable by rolled or blown insulation. The PS6501100MA is listed as an independent driver with strain relief
