Description
Collingwood DLT389MW H2 Lite Select 5W Fire-Rated IP65 CCT Selectable White LED Downlight
Choosing a downlight involves more than picking a white trim. You need the right cut-out, enough light for the room and a colour temperature that feels right once the ceiling is finished. The Collingwood DLT389MW H2 Lite Select gives you three colour choices in one white, recessed LED downlight: 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. A switch on the back of the fitting lets the installer make that choice during installation. It arrives set to 3000K.
This 5W fire-rated downlight produces 600 lumens at 2700K or 650 lumens at 3000K and 4000K, according to Collingwood’s product sheet. Its fixed 55° beam gives a defined spread of light for residential rooms, while the white bezel provides a simple finish for the ceiling. It is a practical choice for a kitchen, bathroom, hallway, bedroom or living area where the ceiling construction and lighting layout suit this fitting.
Pick the colour temperature to suit the space
Set the DLT389MW to 2700K for a warmer, softer-looking light, 3000K for a familiar warm white, or 4000K for a more neutral white appearance. That choice helps when one house needs a relaxed feel in its living areas and a cleaner-looking light in a kitchen or workspace. Because the colour is selected on the fitting, your electrician can confirm the setting while the downlight is accessible.
Useful details for electricians
Collingwood designed the H2 Lite Select with a two-part first-fix connector. Wiring can be completed while the luminaire is detached, and the connector supports loop-in, loop-out wiring. The lever terminal block includes testing ports. These details make a difference when fitting several downlights across a room or reconnecting a fitting during maintenance. Collingwood also states that it has tested the range with Click Flow CT100 series connectors without compatibility issues.
The downlight fits a 60–72mm ceiling cut-out and has a 44mm fitting depth. It can be covered by rolled or blown insulation as specified by Collingwood. The product sheet lists a maximum ceiling thickness of 40mm; an installer should still allow space for the connector and wiring above the ceiling.
Fire-rated and suitable for bathroom ceilings
Collingwood lists fire-test approvals for the H2 Lite Select in solid timber ceilings at 30, 60 and 90 minutes, and I-joist and metal web ceiling systems at 30 minutes. The installer must match the fitting’s approval to the actual ceiling construction. Collingwood also states that using a converter plate removes the fire-rated status, even though it does not affect the stated IP rating.
The DLT389MW is IP65 from below and IP20 from above. Collingwood lists it for UK bathroom Zone 1, ceiling only. This makes the direction of the IP rating important: the room-facing side has the higher protection rating, while the space above the ceiling has a different rating. The product sheet says the fitting is not suitable for exterior use.
