Description
Make connecting electrical appliances easier with the Scolmore Click Mode CMA735 13A locating plug socket. This single-gang switched socket features a specially contoured front plate that helps guide the earth pin of a standard UK plug towards the correct opening, providing a more convenient and user-friendly connection point.
Scolmore developed the locating socket to assist people with impaired vision or reduced hand-to-eye coordination. The shaped plug guide can also be useful where a socket is positioned in a location that is difficult to see or reach, such as behind furniture, beside a bed or underneath a work surface.
The socket includes double-pole switching, disconnecting both the live and neutral conductors when switched off. This provides positive isolation at the accessory and makes it suitable for compatible domestic and commercial applications requiring a dependable 13A switched outlet.
Finished in polar white, the CMA735 has a smooth, rounded profile designed to coordinate with other white accessories from the Click Mode range. The front plate and rocker are manufactured from urea, with polished chrome fixing screws providing a neat finished appearance. Scolmore also lists the moulded accessory as antiviral and antibacterial certified.
The accessory is rated at 13A, 250V AC and 50Hz. Its screw terminals accept up to three 2.5mm² or two 4mm² solid conductors, with a recommended terminal torque of 2Nm. The product has one earth terminal rather than twin earth terminals.
Measuring approximately 86mm wide, 86mm high and 9.5mm deep, the socket uses standard 60.3mm horizontal fixing centres and requires a minimum 25mm mounting-box depth. It has an IP20 rating for protected indoor installations and an operating-temperature range of -5°C to +40°C.
The CMA735 complies with BS 1363-2, is covered by Scolmore’s 25-year warranty and is protected by UK patent GB 2535188B. It is a practical choice for homes, care settings, accessible accommodation, bedrooms, offices and other interiors where easier plug alignment may be beneficial.
