Description

Some rooms need a little extra heat. Perhaps your home office is chilly during the day, the living room cools down in the evening, or you want to warm a bedroom before settling in. The CED Airmaster CR2BR is a portable 2kW oil filled radiator that you can wheel into a suitable room and control from your chair using the supplied remote control. Its black finish and nine-fin design give it a different look from a traditional white portable heater.

The CR2BR offers three useful modes. Choose Comfort for up to 2000W of heating, Eco for an 800W setting, or Anti-Frost when you want frost-protection mode. Its LED touch display lets you adjust the heater directly, and CED also lists a timer, so you have another way to manage when it runs. The remote is particularly handy when the radiator is positioned across the room.

As an oil filled electric radiator, it heats without a fan blowing air around the room. That makes it a practical choice when you want quiet extra warmth while reading, watching television or working. CED describes this range as silent in operation and lists the CR2BR for an effective coverage area of up to approximately 20m². The actual result in your home will depend on the room’s insulation, size and heat loss.

Moving the radiator is straightforward once its supplied wheels and feet plates have been fitted. It comes with a 13A UK plug, and CED lists both an overheat safety cut-off and a tip-over switch. Place it on a suitable level floor, keep it clear of curtains and furniture, and never cover it with clothes or towels.

FAQ's

Does the Airmaster CR2BR come with a remote control?
Yes. CED identifies CR2BR as the remote-controlled 2kW model. You can also use the controls on its LED touch display.

Does it need to be installed by an electrician?
It is a portable, floor-standing radiator with a 13A UK plug. Its supplied wheels and feet plates need fitting before use, but it is not designed as a hard-wired wall heater.

What is the difference between Eco and Comfort mode?
CED lists Eco at 800W and Comfort at 2000W. Eco uses the lower power setting; Comfort provides the heater’s maximum listed output.

Does it have a timer?
Yes, CED lists a timer for CR2BR. Its product page does not state the timer’s duration or programming steps, so avoid assuming it has a 24-hour or seven-day schedule.

What does Anti-Frost mode do?
It is the radiator’s frost-protection setting. It is intended for times when you want a low level of protection against cold conditions, rather than normal comfort heating. CED does not state a specific Anti-Frost temperature for CR2BR on the product page.

How large a room can it heat?
CED lists an effective coverage area of 20m². Treat this as a guide: a poorly insulated room or one with large windows may need more heat than a well-insulated room of the same size.

How much does it cost to run?
At 2000W, one hour of continuous heating uses approximately 2kWh. At the 800W Eco setting, one hour uses approximately 0.8kWh while actively heating. Multiply either figure by your electricity price per kWh to estimate the cost; the actual amount depends on how long the heater runs.

Is an oil filled radiator noisy?
CED describes its oil filled radiator range as silent heating. CR2BR does not rely on a fan blowing warm air across the room.
