Two Independent Lighting Controls

The PCDCL42EW-01 contains two separate 2-way switches, allowing two lighting circuits to be controlled independently from one standard single-gang accessory position.

Each rocker can be used:

• As a conventional one-way on-and-off switch
• As part of a 2-way lighting circuit
• With a second compatible switch to control the same light from another position

This makes the switch particularly useful in rooms containing two different lighting zones, such as ceiling lights and wall lights, main lighting and feature lighting, or indoor and exterior lighting circuits.

Full-Face Edge-to-Edge Rockers

Both switches use BG’s edge-to-edge rocker design, where the majority of the visible front surface acts as the operating area. The larger touch point makes each switch easy to locate and press while creating a more seamless appearance than a conventional switch with small central rockers.

The two clearly divided rockers allow users to distinguish between the separate circuits while preserving a balanced, minimalist front design.

Pearlescent White Screwless Finish

The decorative rockers clip onto the installed switch mechanism, concealing the fixing screws after installation. This creates a smooth screwless finish without visible screw heads interrupting the front of the accessory.

The removable design is also convenient during decorating. The electrical base can remain fixed while the rockers are removed, then clipped back into place after painting or wallpapering has been completed.

The power supply must always be safely isolated before removing the rockers or carrying out installation work.

20A 16AX Electrical Rating

The PCDCL42EW-01 is rated at 20A and 16AX. BG lists an operating voltage of 220–240V, while the technical specification gives a rated voltage of 250V AC.

The 16AX rating supports appropriate lighting loads that may produce increased current during switching. Each connected circuit must remain within the manufacturer’s rating and be designed and protected in accordance with current electrical requirements.
