Description
Power a household appliance and charge two portable devices from one convenient wall point with the BG Nexus Metal NFB21UAC18B-01 matt black USB socket. It combines one standard 13A UK mains outlet with an integrated USB-A port and USB-C port, helping free up the socket by reducing the need for separate plug-in charging adaptors.
Either USB connection can provide up to 18W fast charging when used independently, with supported outputs of 5V/3A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A. The USB-C connection supports PD3.0 and QC3.0, while the USB-A port supports QC3.0 and other compatible charging protocols.
Both USB ports can be used simultaneously. When two devices are connected, the technical specification lists up to 12W from USB-C and 12W from USB-A. Smart charging automatically adjusts the voltage and current to suit compatible phones, tablets, earbuds, power banks and other USB-chargeable devices.
The charging circuit includes overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection, automatic recovery and standby operation when a connected device is fully charged. Actual charging speed depends on the device, cable and supported charging protocol.
Finished in matt black with a matching black insert and rocker, the socket provides a coordinated monochrome appearance for kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms and home offices. Its slim metal plate has softly rounded edges, while the integrated moisture-control gasket helps protect the plate edges from moisture associated with new plaster.
The mains outlet is rated at 13A and 240V and uses single-pole switching. Angled colour-coded terminals and captive screws support straightforward installation, while twin earth terminals are fitted for suitable high-integrity circuit arrangements.
Measuring approximately 86mm high, 86mm wide and 30mm deep, the NFB21UAC18B-01 uses standard 60.3mm fixing centres and requires a minimum 25mm mounting box. This relatively shallow requirement makes it suitable for many compatible replacement and retrofit installations.
