Description

Keep control of who can use a power outlet with the BG Nexus Metal NBSKYSWSG-01 brushed steel 13A key controlled socket. Instead of a conventional rocker switch, the electrical supply is operated by a key, helping prevent unauthorised or accidental use of connected electrical equipment.

This makes the key lockable socket a practical choice for schools, hotels, offices, care environments, rental properties, reception areas, communal spaces and other locations where access to a mains outlet needs to be restricted. When the key switch is turned off, the socket is isolated and cannot supply power until authorised access is restored.

The key-operated mechanism provides double-pole switching, disconnecting both the live and neutral conductors when switched off. This provides more complete isolation than a single-pole switch and gives users a clearly controlled power point for suitable appliances and equipment.

Finished in premium brushed steel with a contrasting grey insert, the socket has the slim profile and softly rounded edges associated with the BG Nexus Metal range. An anti-fingerprint lacquer helps reduce visible fingerprints and everyday marks, making the plate easier to keep looking clean in frequently used areas.

The NBSKYSWSG-01 is supplied as a coordinated kit of Euro module components. Its captive backed-out terminal screws reduce the risk of screws being lost during installation, while angled colour-coded terminals help make the electrical connections easier to identify.

The internal key controlled socket module accepts up to three 2.5mm², two 4mm² or one 6mm² conductor. Twin earth terminals are provided for suitable high-integrity circuit arrangements.

Rated at 13A for a 220–240V supply, the socket is IP20 rated for protected indoor installations. It uses standard 120.6mm horizontal fixing centres and requires a minimum 47mm mounting box, so the existing box depth and available wiring space should be checked before installation.

BG Electrical provides a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty, subject to its applicable warranty conditions.
