Two Independent Dimmer Controls

The NBN82-01 contains two dimmer modules on one 86mm square faceplate. BG officially describes it as a Double Dimmer Switch, 2 Way, Trailing Edge 200W, and its technical documentation identifies the Nxx82 format as a 2G 2-Way Dimmer.

That makes the product particularly useful where two compatible lighting groups need separate brightness control from the same wall position.

BG’s general technical specification lists a module capability of up to 200W for tungsten/incandescent loads and 20–200W for halogen.

However, BG’s dedicated installation instructions apply a specific derating to the two-dimmer square plate:

• 150W maximum per dimmer
• 300W maximum total per plate

for the incandescent and eco-halogen table.

Intelligent Trailing Edge Technology

NBN82-01 uses trailing-edge, also called lagging-edge, dimming technology.
