The single touch control replaces the traditional rotary dimmer knob with two clearly defined touch areas. A short press switches the connected lights on or off at the previously selected brightness, while pressing and holding the upper or lower touch area smoothly increases or decreases the light level. Double-pressing the upper control takes the lighting directly to maximum brightness, while double-pressing the lower control selects the minimum brightness level.

Designed for modern dimmable lighting, the PCDDBTDM1B-01 uses intelligent trailing-edge technology. It supports dimmable LED lighting from 5–100W, tungsten or incandescent lamps from 5–200W, halogen lighting from 20–200W and compatible dimmable CFL lamps from 5–100W. Lamp compatibility should always be checked before installation, as not every LED or CFL lamp is designed for dimming.

Support for lower-wattage lamps helps reduce flickering, while smooth, silent dimming prevents the buzzing or mechanical noise associated with some conventional dimmer controls. This makes the switch suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, home cinemas and other spaces where quiet, precise lighting control is important.

A built-in soft-start function gradually raises the lighting level when switched on instead of immediately applying maximum output.
