The PCDDBRJ451B-01 provides a fixed network connection point for compatible Ethernet cabling. It is suitable for connecting devices such as desktop computers, smart televisions, games consoles, network switches, wireless access points, VoIP equipment and other compatible network-enabled devices to a structured cabling installation.

Unlike Wi-Fi, a correctly designed wired Ethernet connection can provide a consistent physical network link without depending entirely on wireless signal strength. This makes the outlet a practical choice for home offices, media rooms, gaming areas, meeting rooms, reception spaces and other locations where reliable network connectivity is important.

The outlet uses a Cat6 RJ45 module with IDC terminals. The individual conductors of a compatible data cable are terminated into the colour-coded IDC connections using a suitable punch-down tool. The supplied wiring information supports both the T568A and T568B connection standards, allowing the installer to match the wiring configuration used throughout the network.

BG Electrical states that the Cat6 outlet supports data-transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps at 250MHz over cable runs of up to 164 feet. Actual network speed will depend on the complete installation, including the cable type and length, termination quality, connected hardware and network configuration.

A built-in shutter helps protect the RJ45 port when it is not in use, while the identification window can be used to label the connection point. Labelling is particularly useful in offices, larger homes and structured cabling systems containing several network outlets, as it allows each data point to be matched more easily with the corresponding patch-panel or network-cabinet connection.
