Designed for modern dimmable LED and traditional lighting, this intelligent trailing-edge rotary dimmer combines smooth brightness adjustment, push on/off operation and a contemporary screwless finish.

The PCDDB81B-01 has a maximum rating of 200W for compatible incandescent lighting and 100W for dimmable LED lighting. It supports dimmable LED loads from 5–100W, tungsten or incandescent loads from 5–200W, halogen loads from 20–200W and compatible dimmable CFL loads from 5–100W.

Its intelligent trailing-edge dimming technology is designed to provide improved compatibility with modern low-wattage LED lamps. The lower minimum load helps reduce common dimming problems such as flickering, while the smooth and silent operation makes it particularly suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, dining spaces, home cinemas and other quiet interiors.

The rotary control provides straightforward lighting adjustment. Turn the dimmer knob to raise or lower the brightness, then press the control to switch the connected lighting circuit on or off. This allows users to create brighter task lighting, comfortable everyday illumination or lower ambient lighting from one compact wall control.

A built-in soft-start function gradually brings compatible lamps to the selected lighting level in approximately one second. This reduces the sudden electrical and thermal stress associated with instant full-power switching and can help extend the working life of suitable lamps.

The dimmer also includes overload protection. If too many lamps or transformers are connected, the protection system reduces or switches off the output until the excessive load has been corrected. This helps protect the dimmer from avoidable damage caused by an unsuitable connected load.

Its two-way switching capability allows the connected lighting circuit to be switched on or off from a second suitable switch position when correctly wired. Brightness is adjusted using the rotary dimmer control, making the product useful for rooms with more than one entrance, hallways, landings and other appropriate two-position lighting arrangements.
