Provide a permanently powered, fused connection for suitable fixed electrical equipment with the BG Evolve PCDDB54B-01 Matt Blue 13A Unswitched Fused Connection Unit.

Also known as an unswitched fused spur or FCU, this accessory combines a replaceable fuse, flush LED power indicator and integrated front flex outlet within a stylish screwless plate. Unlike the PCDDB52B-01 switched version, the PCDDB54B-01 has no rocker switch, making it suitable where the connected appliance does not require local on-and-off control at the connection point.

Ideal for Hardwired Appliances and Spur Circuits

The fused connection unit can provide a protected electrical supply to suitable fixed or hardwired appliances. The replaceable fuse allows the connected appliance cable to be protected using an appropriately rated BS 1362 fuse, subject to the appliance manufacturer’s requirements and the circuit design.

13A Unswitched Fused Connection

The PCDDB54B-01 is rated at 13A and 250V AC and is manufactured for use on suitable UK electrical installations. The fuse carrier is positioned on the front of the accessory, allowing the protective fuse to be replaced without removing the complete connection unit from the wall.

The correct fuse rating must always be selected for the connected appliance and flexible cable. A 13A accessory rating does not mean that every connected appliance should automatically use a 13A fuse.

Flush LED Power Indicator

A low-power LED indicator is integrated into the front plate. Because the unit is unswitched, the indicator provides a visible confirmation that mains power is present at the fused connection unit.

This is particularly useful for equipment that may not otherwise show an obvious sign that its electrical supply is available, such as boilers, heating controls, ventilation systems and permanently connected appliances.

Integrated Front Flex Outlet

The built-in front flex outlet allows a suitable appliance cable to leave directly through the face of the fused connection unit.

The outlet incorporates a removable blanking section, making the accessory suitable for installations where the appliance flex cannot be concealed completely inside the wall. This can be useful for boilers, fans, heating equipment and kitchen appliances positioned close to the connection point.
