BG Evolve PCDDB13B-01 Matt Blue Intermediate Switch
Control one lighting circuit from three or more switch positions with the BG Evolve PCDDB13B-01 Matt Blue Intermediate Light Switch.
Designed to sit between two compatible 2-way switches, this intermediate switch is ideal for staircases, long hallways, large rooms and properties with several entrances. Its contemporary Matt Blue screwless plate and contrasting dark rocker create a distinctive decorative alternative to standard white electrical accessories.
Lighting Control from Three or More Positions
An intermediate switch is required when one lighting circuit needs to be controlled from more than two locations.
A typical arrangement uses:
- One 2-way switch at the first position
- The PCDDB13B-01 intermediate switch in the middle
- A second 2-way switch at the final position
Additional compatible intermediate switches can be added where the same light needs to be operated from four or more locations. The PCDDB13B-01 should not normally be installed on its own as a standard one-way light switch.

Slim Screwless Front Plate
The decorative front plate clips onto the installed switch base, concealing the fixing screws and creating a clean, low-profile appearance.
The removable plate is also practical during refurbishment work. The switch base can remain fitted while painting or wallpapering is completed, after which the Matt Blue front plate can be clipped back into position.
The electrical supply must always be safely isolated before removing the decorative plate or working on the switch.
20A 16AX Electrical Rating
The BG Evolve PCDDB13B-01 is rated at 20A and 16AX.
The 16AX inductive rating makes the switch suitable for appropriate lighting loads that may produce increased current during switching. The official technical specification lists a rated voltage of 250V AC, while BG’s individual product page gives an operating range of 220–240V.
The switch is designed for fixed lighting circuits. It is not a dimmer, timer, smart switch, motion sensor or appliance-isolation switch.
Captive Backed-Out Terminal Screws
Captive backed-out terminal screws are supplied ready for wiring and remain retained within the switch mechanism.
This installer-friendly design helps reduce preparation time and prevents terminal screws from being dropped or lost during fitting.
The published terminal capacity includes:
- Four 1mm² conductors
- Four 1.5mm² conductors
- Two 2.5mm² conductors
- One 4mm² conductor
