Control the brightness of three separate lighting circuits from one coordinated wall plate with the BG Evolve PCDCP83B-01 Polished Copper Triple 2-Way Dimmer Switch.

The accessory combines three independent rotary dimmer modules with a reflective Polished Copper screwless plate and contrasting black controls. Its intelligent trailing-edge technology is designed for compatible dimmable LED, CFL, halogen and traditional incandescent lighting.

Three Independent Lighting Controls

The PCDCP83B-01 contains three separately operated dimmer controls. Each module can control the brightness and on/off state of its own compatible lighting circuit.

This makes it suitable for installations combining lighting zones such as:

• Wall lights
• Under-cabinet lighting
• Dining-area lighting
• Decorative feature lighting
• Separate open-plan room zones

Turning a control adjusts the brightness of its connected circuit, while pressing the control switches that circuit on or off.

200W Maximum Rating per Module

Each dimmer module has its own minimum and maximum load range:

• Dimmable LED: 5–100W
• Dimmable CFL: 5–100W
• Tungsten or incandescent: 5–200W
• Halogen: 20–200W

The advertised 200W rating applies to suitable incandescent and halogen lighting. Compatible dimmable LED circuits are limited to 100W per module. All three circuits must be calculated separately and kept within the appropriate load range.

The connected lamps must be specifically marked as dimmable and suitable for trailing-edge control. Mixing incompatible lamp types or drivers on the same circuit may cause poor dimming performance.

Intelligent Trailing-Edge Technology

Trailing-edge dimming offers a lower minimum load than many traditional leading-edge controls, improving compatibility with modern low-wattage LED lighting.

The intelligent electronic circuit monitors the connected load and provides:

Soft-Start Operation

When a connected circuit is switched on, the dimmer gradually raises the output to the selected brightness level over approximately one second.

This avoids an abrupt change from off to full output and can reduce electrical and thermal stress on compatible lamps.

Integrated Overload Protection

The dimmer includes overload protection to help prevent permanent failure if too many lamps or transformers are connected.

When an excessive load is detected, the module may automatically reduce the brightness or switch the lighting off until the connected load is corrected. This protective function does not replace the need to calculate the wattage of each lighting circuit before installation.

2-Way Push On/Off Control

Each dimmer module supports 2-way on/off switching, allowing a compatible lighting circuit to be switched from another location when correctly wired with an appropriate remote switch.

Brightness adjustment is carried out using the rotary dimmer control. The final wiring arrangement should follow BG’s instructions for one-way or 2-way operation.

Premium Polished Copper Finish

The reflective Polished Copper front plate provides a warmer decorative alternative to conventional white, chrome or brushed-steel dimmers.

Screwless Clip-On Plate

The decorative plate clips onto the installed dimmer base and conceals the mounting screws, creating a smooth, contemporary finish.

The plate can be removed during painting or wallpapering and clipped back into place after decorating is complete. This helps protect the Polished Copper surface and prevents visible screw heads from interrupting the finished appearance.

The electrical supply must always be safely isolated before removing the plate or undertaking installation work.

Captive Backed-Out Terminals

Each dimmer module includes captive backed-out terminal screws. The screws remain retained inside the terminal assembly and are supplied ready for conductor insertion, helping speed up installation and reduce the risk of screw loss.

The published terminal capacity per module is:

• Three 1mm² conductors
• Two 1.5mm² conductors
• One 2.5mm² conductor

Each lighting circuit must be correctly identified and terminated at its corresponding dimmer module.

The triple dimmer uses a horizontal double-gang plate with:
