This premium two-gang socket combines two independently switched Type G outlets with one USB-A port and one USB-C port. Two Individually Switched 13A Outlets

The PCDCP22UAC22B-01 provides two standard UK three-pin sockets, each operated by an individual single-pole switch. This allows two compatible appliances to remain connected and be controlled separately without removing their plugs.

The socket is rated at 13A and 240V AC and can power suitable equipment such as televisions, computers, monitors, lamps, kitchen appliances, audio systems and home-office devices, provided the total connected load remains within the circuit and accessory ratings.

Charging Two Devices Together

When the USB-A and USB-C ports are used simultaneously, the available charging power is shared. BG specifies a maximum of 12W at 5V/2.4A from each port during dual-port use.

This means the fastest charging performance will normally be achieved when only one compatible device is connected. When two devices are charging together, the socket prioritises convenient shared charging rather than delivering the maximum single-port output to both devices.

Smart AutoDetect Charging

BG’s smart charging technology detects the connected USB device and adjusts the voltage and current to suit its charging requirements.

When charging demand falls below 100mA because a device is fully charged, the variable-voltage output can return to the other USB port. No-load power consumption is listed as less than 0.1W.

The manufacturer also states that compatible phones can receive up to 50% charge in approximately 30 minutes and charge up to 70% faster than standard 5V charging. Actual results vary according to the device, cable, battery capacity and whether one or both USB ports are being used.
