BG Evolve PCDCL13EW-01 Pearlescent White Intermediate Switch

Complete a modern multi-way lighting arrangement with the BG Evolve PCDCL13EW-01 Intermediate Light Switch. Finished in Pearlescent White, this decorative wall switch combines a contemporary screwless appearance with a large edge-to-edge rocker that provides a clear and comfortable touch point.

The intermediate switch is designed to operate as the middle switch in a lighting circuit controlled from three or more locations. It is commonly installed between two compatible 2-way switches in staircases, long corridors, large rooms and properties with several entrances.

Intermediate Switching for Three or More Locations

Unlike a standard 1-way or 2-way light switch, the PCDCL13EW-01 is an intermediate switch.

It can be used where the same lighting circuit needs to be controlled from:

• The bottom, middle and top of a staircase
• Three positions along a long hallway
• Several entrances to a large room
• Multiple floors within a property
• Different points across an open-plan interior

The intermediate switch is installed between the two 2-way switches and cannot normally be used by itself as a standard on-and-off switch.

Large Edge-to-Edge Rocker

The switch features an edge-to-edge rocker covering most of the visible front surface.

This oversized operating area creates a cleaner and more contemporary appearance than a traditional switch with a small central rocker. It also provides a larger touch point, making the switch easy to locate and operate in hallways, bedrooms, staircases, hotels and busy communal areas.

Pearlescent White Screwless Finish

The Pearlescent White finish offers a more decorative appearance than a standard moulded-white accessory while remaining neutral enough for modern residential and commercial interiors.

The screwless rocker clips on and off the installed base, concealing the fixing screws after installation. This creates a clean finished appearance and makes it easier to remove the decorative component when redecorating.

20A 16AX Electrical Rating

The BG Evolve PCDCL13EW-01 is rated at 20A and 16AX and operates at 220–240V.

The 16AX rating makes the switch suitable for appropriate lighting loads that may produce increased current during switching. The connected lighting circuit must remain within the manufacturer’s rating and be designed and installed in accordance with current electrical requirements.

Installer-Friendly Terminals

Captive backed-out terminal screws are supplied in a ready-to-wire position, helping reduce installation time and preventing screws from becoming lost during fitting.

The listed terminal capacity is:

• Two 2.5mm² conductors
• Four 1.0mm² conductors
• One 4.0mm² conductor

The switch also includes an earth terminal on the mounting plate.

Minimum 25mm Back Box

BG specifies a minimum mounting-box depth of 25mm.

The switch can be installed with a suitable recessed metal box, compatible dry-lining box or appropriate surface-mounted pattress. A deeper box may provide additional space where several conductors enter the intermediate-switch position.
