Intuitive Touch Lighting Control

The dimmer has separate upper and lower touch-sensitive areas for straightforward control:

• Double-touch the lower area for minimum brightness

Master Touch Dimmer

The PCDBCTDM1B-01 is the master version of the BG Evolve touch dimmer.

For one-way operation, the master controls the lighting circuit independently from one wall position. Where the same light needs to be controlled and dimmed from two locations, the master must be paired with a compatible BG secondary touch dimmer.

The master cannot be combined with a conventional mechanical light switch, rotary dimmer or another master touch dimmer.

Soft-Start Operation

The built-in soft-start function gradually raises the connected lighting to the selected level when it is switched on.

BG states that the light reaches its setting in around one second, while the installation instructions specify approximately 1.2 seconds from zero to full output. This controlled start helps reduce sudden electrical and thermal stress on compatible lamps.

Overload Protection

Integrated overload protection helps prevent permanent dimmer failure if too many lamps or transformers are connected.

When an overload is detected, the dimmer can reduce the lighting output or stop operating until the connected load is corrected. Installers should still calculate the total wattage and number of lamps before fitting the dimmer.
