Description
BG Evolve PCDBC43B-01 Black Chrome Triple Light Switch
Control three separate lighting circuits from one compact wall position with the BG Evolve PCDBC43B-01 Black Chrome Triple 2-Way Light Switch.
This decorative three-gang switch combines three independently operated rockers with a polished Black Chrome plate and coordinated black inserts. Its low-profile screwless design conceals the mounting screws, creating a clean finish for contemporary kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, apartments, hotels, restaurants and commercial interiors.
Three Independent Lighting Controls
The PCDBC43B-01 contains three separate rocker switches, allowing three lights or lighting zones to be controlled from one standard single-gang accessory position.
Possible lighting combinations include:
- Main ceiling lights, wall lights and pendant lighting
- Kitchen downlights, island pendants and under-cabinet lights
- Living-room ceiling lights, feature lighting and wall lights
- Bedroom lighting, bedside lighting and suitable exterior lights
- Three independent zones within an open-plan room
Each rocker operates independently, allowing any combination of the three connected circuits to be switched on or off.
2-Way Switching on Every Rocker
Each of the three mechanisms provides 2-way switching. This allows each connected lighting circuit to be controlled from a second location when paired with another compatible 2-way switch.
The arrangement is useful for rooms with more than one entrance, bedrooms with doorway and bedside controls, long hallways, staircases and large open-plan interiors. Each rocker can also be wired for conventional one-way switching where control is only required from one position.
20A 16AX Electrical Rating
The PCDBC43B-01 is rated at 20A and 16AX, with an official technical voltage rating of 250V AC. The 16AX inductive rating supports appropriate lighting loads that can produce increased current during switching.
The connected lamps, drivers, protective device and circuit wiring must remain within the manufacturer’s ratings. This is a mechanical on-and-off switch and does not provide dimming, timers, motion sensing or smart-home control.
Premium Black Chrome Finish
The polished Black Chrome plate provides a dark metallic alternative to conventional white switches. It coordinates particularly well with black light fittings, chrome handles, dark cabinetry, black appliances, contemporary furniture and grey or neutral colour schemes.
Matching Black Chrome sockets, dimmers, fused connection units and communication outlets are available within the BG Evolve range, allowing the same decorative finish to be continued throughout a room or property.
Screwless Clip-On Front Plate
The decorative front plate clips onto the installed switch base and covers the fixing screws. This creates a smooth, low-profile appearance without exposed screw heads.
The plate can be removed during painting or wallpapering and clipped back into position after decorating is complete, helping protect the Black Chrome finish during installation and refurbishment work.
Captive Backed-Out Terminals
Captive terminal screws remain retained inside each switch mechanism and are supplied backed out ready for conductor insertion. This installer-friendly arrangement helps reduce fitting time and prevents loose terminal screws from being dropped or lost.
The official technical specification lists terminal capacities of:
- Four 1mm² conductors
- Four 1.5mm² conductors
- Two 2.5mm² conductors
- One 4mm² conductor
Fixing screws and installation instructions are supplied with the switch.
Earth-Terminal Arrangement
BG states that no earth terminal is required on the PCDBC43B-01 switch mechanism. This can make it a practical decorative option for certain older installations where no protective conductor is present at the switch position.
Any metal mounting box or other conductive installation components must still be correctly earthed where required. Existing wiring should be assessed and the accessory installed by a competent person.
Minimum 25mm Back Box
The switch requires a minimum 25mm single-gang mounting box and uses standard 60.3mm fixing centres. A deeper box may provide more practical wiring space because three separate switch mechanisms and their associated conductors must fit behind the plate.
Suitable options include a compatible:
- 25mm single-gang metal back box
- Deeper recessed metal box
- Single-gang dry-lining box
- Surface-mounted pattress
