BG Evolve PCDBC13B-01 Black Chrome Intermediate Switch

Control one lighting circuit from three or more locations while maintaining a premium, coordinated interior with the BG Evolve PCDBC13B-01 Black Chrome 20A 16AX Intermediate Light Switch.

Designed for multi-position lighting circuits, this single intermediate switch is installed between two compatible 2-way switches. Its reflective Black Chrome screwless plate and coordinated black rocker provide a contemporary finish for staircases, long hallways, large rooms, hotels, apartments and commercial interiors.

Lighting Control from Three or More Positions

An intermediate switch is required when the same lighting circuit needs to be operated from more than two switch locations.

A typical three-position installation uses:

• One compatible 2-way switch at the first location
• The PCDBC13B-01 intermediate switch at the middle location
• A second compatible 2-way switch at the final location

Additional intermediate switches can be added where lighting control is required from four or more positions. The PCDBC13B-01 is therefore different from a standard one-way or 2-way switch and should be selected specifically for a correctly designed multi-way circuit.

This switching arrangement is particularly useful for:

The PCDBC13B-01 is rated at 20A and 16AX. BG lists an operating voltage of 220–240V, while its official technical specification gives a nominal rating of 250V AC.

The 16AX inductive rating makes the switch suitable for appropriate lighting loads that may experience higher current during switching. The connected lighting equipment, circuit protection and wiring must remain within the manufacturer’s ratings.

This product is a mechanical intermediate switch. It does not provide dimming, smart-home control, timers, occupancy sensing or motion detection.
