BG Evolve PCDBC12EB-01 Black Chrome 2-Way Edge Rocker Switch

Bring contemporary lighting control to modern interiors with the BG Evolve PCDBC12EB-01 Black Chrome Edge-to-Edge Light Switch. Designed with a large full-face rocker and a slim screwless profile, this decorative switch offers a clean alternative to conventional accessories with smaller central rockers and visible fixing screws.

The deep Black Chrome finish creates a striking appearance that works particularly well in modern kitchens, bedrooms, living areas, hotels, offices and interiors featuring dark appliances, black hardware or polished metallic details.

Full-Face Edge-to-Edge Rocker

The rocker extends across almost the entire front of the switch, creating a larger and more accessible touch point. Its uncluttered design produces a smooth, minimalist appearance while making the operating surface easy to locate and press.

The rocker clips on and off the installed mounting assembly, concealing the fixing screws after installation. It can also be removed when decorating and refitted once painting or wallpapering is complete.

This product should not be confused with the PCDBC12B-01 standard-rocker switch or the PCDBC12WB-01 wide-rocker model. The PCDBC12EB-01 uses BG’s largest edge-to-edge rocker design.

Single 2-Way Lighting Control

The PCDBC12EB-01 contains one 2-way switch mechanism for controlling a single lighting circuit.

It can be installed as a conventional one-way switch or combined with another compatible 2-way switch so the same light can be operated from two positions. Typical applications include controlling lighting from the top and bottom of a staircase, opposite ends of a hallway or two entrances to a room.

20A 16AX Rating

The switch is rated at 20A and 16AX. BG lists an operating voltage of 220–240V on the individual product page, while the range specification states a rated voltage of 250V AC.

The 16AX inductive rating makes the switch suitable for appropriate lighting loads that may produce increased current during switching, provided the complete circuit remains within the manufacturer’s specification.

Captive Backed-Out Terminals

Captive backed-out terminal screws are retained within the mechanism and supplied in a ready-to-wire position. This installer-friendly design helps reduce preparation time and prevents terminal screws from being lost during fitting.

The published terminal capacity includes:

• Four 1mm² conductors
• Four 1.5mm² conductors
• Two 2.5mm² conductors
• One 4mm² conductor

Fixing screws and installation instructions are also supplied.

Earth Terminal on Mounting Plate

Unlike the standard PCDBC12B-01 switch, this edge-to-edge version includes an earth terminal on the mounting plate.

Protective conductors must be connected correctly, and an appropriate earth link should be made to a metal mounting box where required. Installation and testing should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician.

Minimum 25mm Back Box

BG specifies a minimum mounting-box depth of 25mm for the PCDBC12EB-01.

The switch can be fitted to a suitable single-gang metal back box, compatible dry-lining box or appropriate surface pattress. A deeper 35mm box may provide additional working space where several conductors enter the switch position.
