This relatively low output is intentional and means the Tango should be used as part of a wider lighting scheme rather than as the main source of illumination.

Astro gives the integrated LED an approximate rated lifetime of 51,000 hours, helping minimise routine maintenance and lamp replacement.

Warm White 3000K Lighting

Product code 1175001 produces a 3000K warm-white colour temperature. This delivers a clean yet comfortable light appearance that works well with contemporary bathrooms, corridors, stairs, timber surfaces, stone-effect tiles and neutral interior finishes.

The 3000K output is warmer than cool-white lighting but slightly cleaner than traditional 2700K decorative light, making it suitable for both residential and hospitality applications.

High CRI 90 Colour Rendering

The integrated LED has a high CRI 90 colour-rendering rating. This helps nearby wall finishes, tiles, timber, fabrics and decorative materials appear more natural under the light.

Astro also specifies three-step MacAdam colour consistency, supporting a more uniform light appearance when multiple Tango marker lights are installed within the same project.

IP65 Bathroom and Architectural Lighting

The Astro 1175001 carries an IP65 rating, providing complete protection against dust ingress and protection against water jets.

Astro specifies the Tango LED for bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3, making it suitable for a wider range of bathroom locations than many standard IP44 wall lights. The final installation position must still comply with the manufacturer’s instructions and current electrical regulations.

The IP65 construction also makes the fitting useful for architectural locations that may experience moisture or regular cleaning. However, the product-specific datasheet states that it is not suitable for installation within five miles, approximately eight kilometres, of the coast.

Recessed Wall-Mounted Installation

The Tango LED is designed for recessed wall mounting, creating a neat finish with only the compact square faceplate visible after installation.

Requires a 350mA Constant-Current Driver

The Astro Tango is a Class III low-voltage fitting and must be powered using a compatible 350mA constant-current LED driver.

The driver is not built into the marker light and must be selected separately according to the number of fittings, total LED load and required control method. Astro states that the forward voltage per fitting is approximately 3.1V, which should be considered when specifying the driver and connected circuit.

The Tango must not be connected directly to a standard mains electrical supply without the correct constant-current control gear.

Dimmable with Compatible Control Gear

The Tango LED can be dimmed, but dimming is dependent on the selected control gear.

A compatible dimmable 350mA constant-current driver and suitable dimming system must be used. This can allow the marker lights to be reduced for subtle overnight orientation lighting or increased where clearer pathway illumination is required.

Unswitched Marker Light

The Astro Tango does not include an integral switch. It must be controlled through an external wall switch, lighting-control system, timer, sensor or compatible dimming arrangement.

Multiple Tango fittings can be connected as part of a coordinated stair, hallway or bathroom lighting circuit, provided the selected driver supports the number and electrical characteristics of the connected lights.
