FAQ's

Can the Panel Pod PRO be used on a DALI emergency testing system without separate self-test scheduling?

Yes. The APOD/1/3NM/DA version incorporates DALI emergency functionality alongside self-test capability, allowing integration into DALI emergency monitoring systems while reducing manual testing requirements.

Does the emergency pod affect the panel's UGR performance?

No. Unlike some emergency conversion methods that introduce visible emergency packs or alter diffuser optics, the Panel Pod integrates within the panel assembly itself, helping maintain the original photometric performance of the luminaire during normal operation.

Is the Panel Pod suitable for projects requiring BS 5266 compliance?

The product is designed to support emergency lighting installations and incorporates self-testing functionality. Final compliance depends on the complete emergency lighting design, spacing calculations and installation in accordance with BS 5266 and BS EN 50172 requirements.

Why does Ansell use LiFePO4 batteries instead of NiCd technology?

LiFePO4 batteries typically provide improved cycle life, better thermal stability, lower maintenance requirements and improved energy efficiency compared with older nickel-cadmium emergency lighting batteries.

Can the Panel Pod be monitored through a building management system?

When used with a suitable DALI emergency infrastructure, emergency status and testing information can be incorporated into wider building lighting management systems.
