FAQ's

Can the Gabbro be used as a direct replacement for SON or Metal Halide streetlights?

Yes. The multi-wattage design allows the Gabbro to be configured to match or exceed the performance of many traditional SON-T and Metal Halide installations while significantly reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements. A lighting design should always be completed to verify lux levels and spacing.

What column heights is the Gabbro suitable for?

Depending on the wattage selected and project requirements, the Gabbro is commonly installed on columns ranging from 4m to 12m. Lighting calculations should be performed to ensure compliance with BS EN 13201 requirements.

Does the fitting support future smart city upgrades?

Yes. The integrated NEMA socket allows future upgrades to photocells, CMS nodes, wireless monitoring systems and smart city controls without replacing the luminaire.

Can the Gabbro be used in coastal environments?

The die-cast aluminium housing provides strong corrosion resistance. However, for highly aggressive marine environments, installers should review project-specific environmental conditions and maintenance schedules.

Is the Gabbro suitable for lighting car parks to BS 5489 standards?

Yes. The fitting can be used for many car park lighting schemes, but lighting calculations should always be completed to verify average lux levels, uniformity and compliance with project specifications.

Can the luminaire be integrated into a Central Management System (CMS)?

Yes. The NEMA socket allows compatibility with many CMS solutions, enabling remote monitoring, dimming schedules, fault reporting and energy management.
